The time has come to write my review of my recent visit to the wonderful city of Las Vegas. Every time I go to this place I get more and more excited and every time I go I experience something different. From restaurants to shows to shopping and yes of course gambling! What would a trip to Vegas be without gambling for the founder of Casinyes.com.

The trip was the first of four this year for me and my wife. Two of which will include trips to Casinyes locations so I couldn't be more excited about them. I will hopefully get my wife to chime into this blog or future blogs with her opinions. She will be able to speak the female non-gamblers that potentially read this site.

To understand the context of this trip you must understand my previous trips. Previously, I have only been to Las Vegas with my guy friends. It was always a boys trip and something of a spectacle. Never to the extent of the hangover movies, but we were able to find trouble each and every time. This trip was just me and my wife, who has never been to Las Vegas, but was excited to experience it for the first time. I made it a point to limit my gambling from my normal amount in order to do some things that we wanted to do as a couple. A side of Las Vegas that I was not use to. Perhaps change can be good!

We arrived early afternoon on a sunny Saturday in March. The world was our oyster as they say, and I was so excited to show my wife everything the town had to offer. She had to contain my excitement. We were able to check into our room at the Planet Hollywood earlier than expected and we even had the ability to upgrade to what I would call a small suite. We had plenty of space in our room with a great view of the strip and the Bellagio fountains. What more could we ask for? The sun was out and we were ready to party. Seeing that the pool was already packed I decided it was best for us to make our way down the strip and take it all in before we decided on what we wanted to do first. We ended up making our way through the Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. I always find this a fun sight to see for new people in Vegas because its so crazy to think of water running through a mall! After doing some window shopping (its always cool to stop by the vintage bookstore), we made our way down through the casinyes and into Lagasse Stadium. This is Emeril's sportsbook restaurant. This place is fantastic! Sports memorabilia on the wall and tv's every where the eye can see. Any sport that is on tv is broadcast in there. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't too crowded at the time we arrived and we were able to get our own couch and our own very large TV. With no particular game on at this time that we wanted to watch I asked the server to turn it to golf. This is always my favorite. The food at Emeril's is what I would call tasty barfood. It is classics with just enough of a twist to make it taste that much better. After enjoying our meal and being uncomfortably full it was time to start walking it off again. We made our way over to the Wynn casinyes. There we discovered another collection of shops. These shops are filled with items I would love to be able to afford. It made for incredible window shopping but not much actual shopping. The reason we went to the Wynn was because I wanted to show my wife how beautiful that establishment is. We explored the casinyes floor the indoor garden and what I think is a very unique outdoor bar just off the casinyes floor. I am unsure of the name of the bar but it has two curved escalators leading down to it (very cool) and what I think is a very interesting waterfall to look at. It is unique in its simplicity but exciting in its size. There is a fascinating statue of a person out in the water facing the falls. It makes for a great spot to stop and enjoy a bite or a cocktail.

Finally after this small tour of the casinyes it was time to gamble. This was my first time all day gambling and I couldn't have been more excited (even though I wasn't planning on spending much). I did my typical walk around to find the perfect slot machine (strategy might be explained in a later blog post) and found the one that I wanted to play. I quickly ran my money down to my last five dollars and then it happened...a big win! I am not sure of the exact amount but it was enough to get me to stop playing and grab some drinks for the long walk back to Planet Hollywood.

Drinks in hand it was time to head back. We started the walk back and enjoyed the sites and sounds along the way. At this point I wanted my wife to continue to take it all in so we didn't venture to far off of the side walk but when we made it back she had an idea. She offered up the thought of checking out the Chandalier Bar at the Cosmopolitan. Sounds great to me. We got dressed up and went over to the bar and it was just as advertised. Lights shining off of crystals making for an incredible ambiance. We were quickly served and enjoyed a pleasant evening. For some reason Champagne seemed fitting to have at this place so I enjoyed a glass and that was all I could handle. We soon retired back to our room at Planet Hollywood and found ourselves going to bed rather early for a trip to vegas. It had been a long day starting our travels at 3am east coast time, we were exhausted. It wasnt like a boys trip where the first guy to bed gets made fun of. This was a trip for relaxation and we were going to do our best to embrace it.

Stay tuned for the comments on the rest of the trip and full write up on my comments on all of the casinyes locations that we visited.
